 – $280 Million: Record Mega Millions Jackpot.  The jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery grew to $280 million Wednesday, the highest jackpot for the game since its inception in May, 2002.
 – Lotto winner is held in shooting.  The youngest Lotto jackpot winner ever in Colorado is behind bars and faces a charge of attempted murder after Longmont police said he shot another man in the head over the weekend.
Ex-lottery manager sues Penn. officials.  A former Republican state House candidate from Bethlehem is claiming that Democratic state officials violated her rights by firing her from the Pennsylvania Lottery for political reasons.
 – Jamaica Lottery Recovers.  Supreme Ventures Ltd., Jamaica's sole lottery company, has seen a substantial recovery in its business since the Government decided to lift the tax it had imposed on winnings last year.

 – Bahamas debates starting national lottery.  Chairman of the Gaming Board, Kenyatta Gibson, MP, announced to parliament last week that the Gaming Board is currently reviewing the feasibility of The Bahamas introducing a national lottery.
 – Lines, dreams grow for tonight's $220 Million lottery jackpot.  If you waited until today to buy your Mega Millions lottery ticket, you could be standing in line.  A long one.  Sales for tonight's $220 million jackpot have been higher than normal for the past few days, and the day of the drawing is usually the busiest, ticket sellers said.
 – Tennessee Lottery Director Lauds Startup.  Tennessee's lottery is on track to be either the best or second-best lottery startup in U.S. history, lottery President Rebecca Paul said yesterday.

 – Powerball Jackpot Jumps to $67 Million.  Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Wednesday's Powerball drawing the jackpot grew to an estimated $67 million, with a cash option of $34.5 million.
 – Casino deal leads GTECH to rethink R.I. investments.  GTECH warned that it may not go ahead with its plans in Rhode Island because bills before the General Assembly fail to provide it with a portion of the slot machines in a new gaming facility.
Missouri Lottery sets profit record.  The Missouri Lottery posted a record $230.3 million in profits for the 2004 fiscal year, well above state projections and the previous year's results.

GTECH's 1Q earnings up 31 percent.  Gtech Holdings Corp., the world's largest operator of lotteries, Tuesday posted a 31 percent jump in profit for its latest quarter, helped by continued strong sales.
Georgia Lottery to Drop Change Game.  The Change Game - a Georgia Lottery contest that lets people wager their spare coins on several daily drawings - will be discontinued at the end of this month, officials said Tuesday.

 – Drive-up lottery store opens.  There’s no fuzzy intercom, and you can’t “super size” it, but a new drive-through dedicated almost entirely to selling lottery tickets has popped up near the N.C. state line.
Employees hope to get a share of Texas Lotto win.  Employees at the downtown El Paso gas station that sold Saturday's winning Texas Lottery ticket are anxiously awaiting to hear if they will get a cut from the share of the winnings given to the vendor.

 – Texas Lotto sales at all-time high.  Dreams of becoming an instant millionaire are driving Texans to their local convenience store this week in hopes of winning tonight's Texas Lottery drawing of $120 million, the largest jackpot to date.

N.J. Man Wins $35 Million Lottery Jackpot.  A Little Egg Harbor, NJ man has come forward with a winning lottery ticket worth an annuity prize of $35.5 million, New Jersey Lottery officials announced Wednesday.
Playing Lottery 'not gambling'.  Pick 6 and Jersey Cash 5 were among the topics highlighted at the Millville, NJ's chamber of commerce luncheon meeting on Tuesday.

Colorado Lottery gift scandal continues.  The latest controversy in the Colorado Lottery office over gifts involves warning letters sent to 13 lottery employees charging that they didn't, as required, report gifts given to them by vendors.
 – Kentucky to post record sales.  The Kentucky Lottery Corp. expects its sales this fiscal year, which ends June 30, to hit a record $723.8 million — meaning an extra $11 million for the state.

 – Florida Lotto Soars to $26 Million.  No ticket matched all six Florida Lotto numbers, causing the jackpot to roll over to $26 million, lottery officials said Thursday.
