** Maine was a member of Lotto America from July, 1990 - April, 1992, and dropped out due to low sales.  They later re-joined Powerball on July 31, 2004.

• Powerball was originally known as Lotto America, which began on February 3, 1988.  On April 19, 1992, Lotto America underwent many changes, including nine ways to win, improved overall odds, a larger jackpot, and other changes, and the name of the game was changed to "Powerball".
• The dates shown are the dates tickets went on sale in the state, not the date of the first drawing.
