 – $150 Million Drawing Tonight.  Today is the last day to purchase tickets for entry in the $150 million Mega Millions drawing!  Don't forget to check back with us tonight at 11:00 PM Eastern Time for the live drawing results.
10,000 scratch tickets flawed?.  Ten thousand scratch tickets from Massachusetts' new $640 Million Jubilee game are potentially defective -- but state Treasurer Timothy P. Cahill is refusing to issue a recall, despite fears the flawed tickets could skew the odds or even deprive somebody of a big jackpot.
Lottery schedule may jump.  Tennessee lottery head Rebecca Paul said Monday the corporation may award contracts to gaming vendors, which will be charged with laying the infrastructure for ticket sales, two days sooner than had been anticipated.

 – Mega Millions Jackpot Hits $150 Million.  With nine different ways to win, players across America are lining up to play the game with the highest jackpot in the nation.  Since no ticket matched all six numbers to win the $126 million jackpot, that jackpot now grows to an estimated $150 million for the Tuesday, September 30, 2003 drawing.
 – Luck runs out for N.Y. lottery winners.  When members of the Lucky Lotto Lady Partnership won $23 million in 1994, they thought their money woes were over for good.  But nearly a decade later, the group is battling a formidable foe over its winnings: the Internal Revenue Service.  This time, the Lucky Lotto Lady Partnership is going to need more than luck -- it'll need a change in federal law in order to win.
Hectic job good way to forget lottery fight.  A once-congenial group of 20 office workers at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center are nursing their wounds after a bitter court battle over a $45 million Mega Millions jackpot.
Check your tickets: $30M still unclaimed.  The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. has $30.5 million to give away, but nobody is coming forward to take the prize.  The jackpot from the April 11 Super 7 draw is still unclaimed after almost six months.
Amendment 9 would do what many thought was already done.  If Louisiana voters ratify Amendment 9 on the Oct. 4 ballot, they will impose a dedication that will change the state Constitution to dedicate all but $500,000 of the annual revenues from the state lottery to public education.
 – Committee OKs Tennessee Lottery pay-scale plan.  The pay scale for Tennessee Lottery workers will range from $19,750 a year for a warehouse clerk to $150,000 a year for a senior vice president, plus bonuses, according to a preliminary plan approved by a lottery committee.

 – Powerball Jackpot Leaps to $60 Million.  There were no Powerball jackpot winners Wednesday but 337,565 players across the nation won a total of more than $2.8 million in prizes in America's Game.
Mega Millions Jackpot Hits $126 Million.  None of the tickets sold for Tuesday night's $102 million Mega Millions drawing matched all six numbers, increasing the Friday jackpot to $126 million.
N.D. Gets Lottery Director.  North Dakota's lottery now has a permanent director, as Chuck Keller was hired for the job Wednesday.
 – N.D. rules out credit cards for lottery.  North Dakota should forbid credit-card sales of lottery tickets, and merchants should have the discretion to decide whether to take gamblers' checks or debit cards, a lottery advisory board concluded Wednesday.

 – Mega Millions Mania.  Tuesday afternoon, for people coming through the doors of Durston's, on West Genesee Street in Syracuse, New York, buying a ticket for a $102 million lottery drawing was hard to resist.
Lottery board ups goals.  Profit expectations for Tennessee's new lottery director Rebecca Paul increased Tuesday by roughly $6 million following a vote by the state's lottery board.
 – Lottery winners sue financial adviser.  A Vaughan, Ontario, couple who won over $19 million in a lottery are suing a lawyer-businessman for $7.75 million, alleging his investments squandered almost $5 million of their money.

 – NJ Changes Cash 5 Game.  The New Jersey State Lottery announced improvements to its Jersey Cash 5 game, starting with the September 15 drawing, that are designed to produce higher jackpots and more player excitement.
Powerball Jackpot Grows to $50 Million.  Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Saturday's drawing the Powerball multi-state jackpot grew to an estimated $50 million, with a cash option of $26.5 million.

 – Mega Millions Rises to $102 Million.  The jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery drawing grew to $102 million Saturday, the largest Mega Millions jackpot in three months.
 – Paul gets brusque farewell from Georgia lottery board.  When Rebecca Paul gave three weeks' notice that she was stepping down as head of Georgia's lottery to start Tennessee's, her bosses showered her with praise and wished her well.  Days later, the lottery's board of directors barred Paul from her desk and declared it wanted the $500,000-a-year executive gone yesterday — literally.

 – Lottery scam takes in pair.  Two people duped elderly shoppers with an offer that seemed too good to be true.  Turns out it was.

 – Powerball Jackpot Reaches $43 Million.  There were no Powerball jackpot winners Wednesday but 322,842 players across the nation won a total of more than $3.5 million in prizes in America's Game.
GTECH Completes Acquisition Of Interlott Technologies, Inc..  GTECH Holdings Corporation today announced that it has completed the previously-announced acquisition of Ohio-based Interlott Technologies, Inc, a leading provider of instant ticket vending machines (ITVMs) for the lottery industry worldwide.

Jersey Lottery Winner Accused Of Murder.  A south New Jersey lottery winner was arraigned Tuesday on charges that he murdered his mother-in-law and stabbed his wife at the family home in Egg Harbor Township.

 – Missouri Lottery outperforms every other state.  The Missouri Lottery posted 21.3 percent growth in the 2003 fiscal year that just ended on top of 15 percent growth the previous year, "outperforming every other lottery," International Gaming & Wagering Business said in its September issue.

 – Mega Millions Lottery Disappoints, Officials Say.  More than a year after the multi-state Mega Millions lottery was created, the top prizes haven't been the record-breakers organizers had hoped -- leaving the 10 member states still waiting for a lottery windfall to cushion falling tax revenues.
Michigan Lottery Adds New Games.  Bettors will have more ways to gamble in Michigan next month, and they'll be able to do it in bars and restaurants across the state.

Scientific Games to buy online lottery operator.  Scientific Games Corp., a maker of betting equipment and lottery systems, on Friday said it would acquire International Game Technology's on-line lottery operator for $143 million in cash.

Holmes to propose Alabama lottery bill.  Alabama State Rep. Alvin Holmes said Wednesday he will introduce a bill to set up a state lottery during a special session of the Legislature that begins Monday.
 – Bredesen defends state lottery CEO's annual pay package.  Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen said Thursday that Rebecca Paul's potential $752,000 annual salary package involves "a much more businesslike" arrangement than a similar amount paid to former University of Tennessee President John Shumaker.

Powerball Jackpot Grows to $28 Million.  There were no Powerball jackpot winners Wednesday but 283,741 players across the nation won a total of more than $2.4 million in prizes in America's Game.
 – Treasurer eyes tax-evading Lottery winners.  Massachusetts State Treasurer Tim Cahill plans to tighten Lottery regulations following an audit report issued Wednesday that shows winners often employ suspicious ticket cashing methods to avoid paying millions of dollars in taxes.
Minorities get lottery pitch.  A standing-room-only crowd of women and minority business owners gathered Wednesday to hear new Tennessee Education Lottery chief executive officer Rebecca Paul.

 – Merchants show strong interest in Tenn. lottery.  To date, around 2,500 merchants representing as many as 2,900 Tennessee retail outlets have expressed an interest in selling lottery tickets next year, a spokesperson for the Tennessee Education Lottery Corp. said Tuesday.
Lottery chief tours state.  She's only been Tennessee's lottery chief for two days, but Rebecca Paul is already traveling the state gathering support for Tennessee's lottery.  Wednesday she was in Memphis to talk with minority business owners.
 – Mega Millions Jackpot Hits $65 Million.  The jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery increased to $65 million for Friday's game after there was no big winner in Tuesday night's $55 million drawing.
Lotto dream turns to dust.  Some unlucky winner bought a Florida Lotto ticket worth $50 million in March, but lost his or her chance to cash it when the clock struck 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday.
Paul recommends maximizing lottery prizes.  Increasing lottery prizes by changing the law that sets aside nearly a third of game proceeds for scholarships will ultimately lead to more money for Tennessee students, the state's new lottery chief said Tuesday.
Paul denies leaving Georgia lottery in quandary.  Rebecca Paul, Tennessee's new lottery chief executive officer yesterday denied leaving the same position in Georgia because of problems with the Peach State's lottery scholarship program.

 – $135 million Powerball jackpot goes to two families.  Two families — one from New Hampshire and the other from Massachusetts — have won last week's $135 million Powerball jackpot.  Only one of them went public at a news conference Friday.
Last NJ Lotzee drawing will be Sept. 13.  The last drawing of the New Jersey Lottery's Lotzee game will be Sept. 13.  The game is being discontinued due to declining sales that do not support fixed prize levels, officials said Friday.

 – Florida Lottery Names GTECH For New Multi-Year Contract.  GTECH Corporation has been selected by the Florida Lottery as the apparent successful bidder to supply a new online and instant-ticket lottery system, lottery terminals, and related telecommunications network.
 – Texas couple claims $49 million prize.  Bryon Woods pleaded with his wife Barbara to sell him another $5 worth of lottery tickets at the store where she worked.  Good thing she agreed.  The Eagle Lake couple on Wednesday claimed a winning Lotto Texas ticket worth $49 million.

 – Tennessee Rejects Lottery Deal with Georgia.  The Tennessee lottery board decided unanimously this afternoon to reject a partnership with the Georgia lottery — perhaps delaying the startup of games in Tennessee until March.
 – Is Georgia too much on their minds?.  Tennessee's new lottery board appears to be rushing headlong into a partnership with Georgia, and someone needs to slow the train down so the public can have a better view of where it is headed.
Merchants: Not enough terminals for N.D. lottery.  Many North Dakota merchants, who are hoping a new state lottery will draw more customers, are fretting there won’t be enough ticket terminals to go around -- and state officials say they’re right.

Lottery deal may lead to lawsuits.  Tennessee's lottery board is pushing ahead with preparations for an unprecedented partnership with Georgia despite escalating criticism of the arrangement and no definitive answer as to whether it would be legal.
Lottery glitch causes weekend problems.  The software glitch that caused retail lottery terminals and video poker machines across Oregon to shut down over the past two days has largely been fixed, lottery officials said.
