 – The 'Big Game' gamble for Locke.  It is now known that New York will become the 8th Big Game state.  Will Gov. Gary Locke make Washington the ninth?
New York to Join Lottery Mega-Game.  Lottery officials announced yesterday that New York will join the seven states that now comprise the Big Game Group to develop a new multijurisdiction, big-payoff game.
 – New York Joins The Big Game.  The New York Lottery announced that it will join the multi-state Big Game lottery and work with the seven Lottery organizations which comprise the Big Game Group to make the game even more exciting.  The addition of New York will lead to more winning opportunities, including jackpots starting at $10 million and other possible prize structure changes.
New York Joins Big Game, Plans Under Way to Develop New Mega-Jackpot Game.  New York Lottery Director Margaret R. DeFrancisco today announced the New York Lottery will work with seven other Lottery jurisdictions that currently comprise the Big Game Group, to develop a brand new multi-jurisdiction mega-jackpot game to build on the success of the Big Game.
S.C. numbers games face delay.  The South Carolina lottery's numbers games are unlikely to start before May because of a delay in building its communications network, costing the lottery more than $30 million in lost revenue, the lottery commission chairman said Wednesday.

Virginia man stops, looks, and wins $150,000 in The Big Game.  Not many people can say that they discovered they are $150,000 richer while sitting at a stoplight, but Robert Bass of Portsmouth, Virginia can.
Pa. to Join Powerball Lottery.  Pennsylvania will join the Powerball multi-state lottery next summer in an effort to boost state lottery revenues and the senior citizen programs they help subsidize, Gov. Mark Schweiker said Tuesday.
Do You Have The Missing, Winning Lottery Ticket?.  A missing Texas Lotto ticket, worth $13 million, will expire one minute after midnight on Thursday and become worthless.
Three winning claims made in $34M lottery.  The Ohio Lottery said Monday that valid claims have been made on all three winning jackpot tickets sold in last Wednesday's $34 million Super Lotto Plus drawing.
Familiar mugs appear in lottery ads.  The first television ads for the South Carolina lottery, cheery spots designed to raise awareness of the games' approach, began Monday.
Convicted lottery worker wants ID back.  A Topeka man who admitted stealing $62,932 from the Kansas Lottery while working as its computer manager wants some of his property back, including his lottery photo identification badge.
S.C. lottery to include Sunday drawings.  South Carolina lottery players will be able to buy tickets and watch drawings on television every day of the week, including Sundays, despite the objections of some lottery commissioners.

 – Lottery offer probably too good to be true, officials say.  Joe Schiferli and his wife, Inarae, would be out $760 today, if they were gullible.  Fortunately, the Schiferlis were able to recognize an illegal lottery scam early enough to stop the culprits from stealing their money.

Lottery, usually opposed by casinos, floated in tax debate.  It seemed odd Wednesday when gaming guy Mike Sloan suggested to the other members of the Nevada Governor's Task Force on Tax Policy that they look at a lottery.
S.C. lottery TV ads begin.  The first television ad for the South Carolina lottery, a cheery spot designed to raise awareness of the games' approach, began Monday.

 – S.C. lottery ads won't be airing across N.C. line.  Although S.C. lottery officials are counting on the Charlotte metro area to be one of their hottest markets, few people living north of the state line will catch the $300,000 advertising campaign that begins Monday.
Bill would prohibit lenders from selling lottery tickets.  Pawn shops and other places offering loans would not be able to sell lottery tickets under a bill pre-filed this week in the South Carolina Senate.
Expansion of gambling gains support.  Washington is considering a major expansion of the state's gambling business by bringing in The Big Game, a multistate lottery that may attract players from neighboring states.

 – The Big Game has the largest jackpot in the United States.  After no one matched all the numbers drawn on Friday evening, The Big Game's new $32 million jackpot became the largest in the United States.  The second largest is Connecticut, with $26 million, followed by Michigan and New York, tied at $21 million.

Opinion: Online Gambling Is Here To Stay.  The Combating Illegal Gambling Reform and Modernization Act, introduced on November 1 by U.S. Representative Bob Goodlatte, (R-Virginia), pretends to be constructed in the interest of individuals, and in the best interest of U.S. financial concerns.  It is just the opposite.
Virginia man wins $150,000 in The Big Game.  Imagine walking around for more than two months, not realizing you have a $150,000 winning Big Game ticket in your wallet.
Tickets Arrive For First 4 S.C. Lottery Games.  About 25 million South Carolina lottery tickets arrived Thursday morning at Scientific Games' warehouse in the Columbia suburb of Blythewood.

 – Lottery Officials Check On Tickets.  Gov. Jim Hodges and some South Carolina lottery officials visited Atlanta on Monday morning to watch some of the state's first lottery tickets roll off the presses.
Police catch lotto bandit.  A man police believe is the so-called "Lotto Bandit" who broke into dozens of closed convenience stores and stole scratch-off California Lottery tickets has been arrested, authorities said Tuesday.
