 – Texas Lottery Revenue Surges by 9.2%.  The Texas lottery is showing its first significant jump in revenue since the mid-1990s, despite predictions from loyal players a year ago that adding numbers to the popular Lotto game would harm sales.
Eight is a Lucky Number.  Most casinos use web addresses based on card combinations or catchy names, but very few use numeric domains.  One exception is 888.com.
Double Lotto fails to yield winner.  Errant balls spilling from the machine just seconds before the live broadcast Saturday night forced two drawings and two sets of winning numbers instead of the usual one.  The first set of winning numbers was drawn from a swirling mix of pingpong ball-size spheres that was two balls shy of a full load.
Georgians praise lottery at meeting in N.C..  In an attempt to increase pressure for a state lottery, Gov. Mike Easley had the director of Georgia's lottery and Georgia's attorney general tell 80 members of the North Carolina state House over breakfast at the governor's mansion yesterday how popular the lottery is in their state.
Anti-lottery group apologizes for errors.  An anti-lottery group that tried this week to link lottery operator GTECH Corp. with an aide and former campaign manager to N.C. Gov. Mike Easley has backed off some of its statements, saying that it made errors in researching possible ties.

Luck Strikes Twice for North Carolina Big Game Player.  Keith Abbott of Oxford, North Carolina recently came to the Virginia Lottery's Central Virginia regional office in Farmville to claim a $150,000 Big Game prize – for the second time!

 – Sweepstakes giant agrees to $34 million settlement.  The nation's largest sweepstakes publisher has agreed to a $34 million settlement, the Colorado state attorney general said, and promised to change its practices after a lawsuit brought by 26 states, including Colorado.
