Austin, Texas Couple Hitches Their "Saddle" to Claim $85 Million Record Lotto Texas Jackpot.  Surrounded by dozens of blue police uniforms on hand to salute one of their own, representatives of RBH CNC, Ltd., today held a news conference at the Texas Lottery Commission to discuss winning the largest jackpot-winning ticket ever sold for Lotto Texas.
School Kids Caught in NCAA Pool.  Just like many adults, eighth-graders at a Hartland school organized a gambling pool on the NCAA men's basketball tournament.
Jury: Gambling Town Abused Power.  Officials in the town of Black Hawk, Colorado, where gamblers spend millions of dollars every year, misspent tax money and abused their authority by blocking construction of a road to a rival gambling town, a grand jury concluded.

 – Andrew N.S. Glazer: Indian gaming has its own rules.  When you visit an American Indian casino, you are, for all intents and purposes, in another country.  They can run things however they want.
Who's a millionaire?  The winner of an $85 million lottery jackpot remained out of sight while the curious descended on the Austin, Texas convenience store that sold the winning ticket.
Britain embraces Internet gambling.  Lending new legitimacy to online gambling, Great Britain on Wednesday dumped its tax on sports betting in exchange for a pledge by its famed bookmakers to shut down their offshore Internet operations and reopen them at home.  One bookmaker said the change could turn the United Kingdom into "the hub of the global gambling industry."  Too bad the US government couldn't be so smart...
Bookmakers lured back to British turf.  Britain's biggest bookmakers plan to bring their offshore businesses back to the mainland after the Chancellor yesterday said he would abolish betting tax from January next year.
For $89 million winner, cashing is believing.  Giggling and still incredulous, Sang Cho walked into the California State Lottery office last Monday and claimed the largest individual jackpot in state history -- $89 million.
Lotto winner values friends over money.  A pale orange ticket that cost Sang Cho $5 at her local 7-Eleven store Saturday turned her Moraga family into California's richest lottery winner ever.
