If you were expecting to receive a Jackpot Alert this morning and did not get it, verify that you entered a valid e-mail address. We noticed that a couple folks entered wrong e-mail addresses, so they did not receive an alert for the $10 million jackpot. Our policy on invalid e-mail addresses is to remove the address from our system if the alert e-mail bounces back two weeks in a row. FYI, only those who requested a Jackpot Alert for either all drawings or the $10 million level should have received alerts this morning. If you wish to change your alert level, simply go back to the Jackpot Alert page, reenter your name and e-mail address, and select a new level.

Six days before the Big Game Lottery $73 million jackpot drawing, the Florida Lottery had a $65 million jackpot winner. It turns out that the winner was actually a 26-member lottery group, who today chartered a bus to claim their winnings at lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

With the hightened populatrity of lottery games, it's inevitable that there's going to be plenty of con artists who try to take advantage. The Florida Lottery just announced a new public awareness campaign to alert people to these schemes, which prey mainly on the elderly. Be sure to read the press release, as it contains some good tips on how to spot the frauds.

The winning ticket was sold in Freetown, Massachusetts; we'll bring you more details on the winner after the ticket is claimed.
