• Lottery Winner Presents Clerk with Gift.  When 38-year-old Sam Gates Jr. won $50,000 playing the Georgia Lottery's Jumbo Bucks Classic, his first impulse was to share a portion of his winnings with the clerk who sold him the top prize ticket.

• 9:45 am – There's only one day left to participate in Tuesday's $7 million Big Game jackpot.  The automatic online purchase cutoff is Tuesday at 2:00 PM Eastern Time.  Orders placed after that time will be for the Friday drawing.

• 6:20 pm – New Mexico Security Guards Win $131 Million Jackpot.  A group of 14 security employees at Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico won a $131 million jackpot in the multi-state Powerball lottery drawing on Wednesday.
• Mary Stimer of Battle Creek, Michigan, won a $150,000 prize in The Big Game drawing held on November 14.  The winner, who said she enjoys collecting horse figurines and spending time with her 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, encouraged other Lottery hopefuls to "keep playing!"
• Casinos on river hit snag, as Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer asked the City Council for an extra year to turn over the land for the city's permanent riverfront casinos.  The later deadline could mean MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Greektown Casino might not open their permanent homes until 2005, two years after originally planned.
