Michigan Lottery Identifies 31 Misprinted Change Play Tickets.  During the first four days of Change Play ticket sales (October 13 to 16), the Michigan Lottery experienced printing errors on a very small number of the tickets purchased by players.  In the cases where a Change Play ticket was affected by this problem, a valid wager number was assigned to the ticket, but in the printing process the valid Change Play wager number was erroneously printed as "AA0000."
Fourth aide to governor added to suit.  Linda Cloud, the former Texas lottery chief, added Perry spokeswoman Kathy Walt to her slander and defamation lawsuit against the governor's office, according to court documents filed by her Austin lawyer, Robert Myers.
Former Texas lottery director hospitalized for clot.  Former Texas lottery director Linda Cloud has been hospitalized for treatment of a blood clot on her brain, her attorney said.
Lottery Players Hit Collective Jackpot.  The Maryland Lottery paid $1.6 million to 6,657 players, all of whom correctly selected lucky numbers 5-5-5 in the Wednesday evening drawing.
Powerball lottery: Everybody's playing at the border.  In results surprising nobody who has driven on Carowinds Boulevard near the Interstate 77 interchange in the past 10 days, the top five Powerball retailers in South Carolina stand shoulder-to-shoulder in York County along the North Carolina line.
Strand resident wins big in lottery.  Paul Urban collected his $500,000 S.C. Education Lottery prize Thursday, a day after he learned he was the state's biggest winner in Saturday's Powerball drawing.
Governor presses lottery agenda.  Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman said Thursday that he considers next month's election to be a de facto referendum on an education lottery.
New lottery mascot?.  Pro-lottery forces in Tennessee may have a new mascot, in a giant inflatable duck that appeared Thursday morning along I-40.  It's catching a lot of attention, but lottery opponents don't like it.
10,000-Room, $5 Billion Luxury Mega Resort Casino Unveiled in Las Vegas.  Creator Michael R. Henderson today unveiled his concept for a 250-acre Mega Resort complex called "Moon".  The concept is designed to be a 10,000-room, five-star, five-diamond luxury resort like nothing else on planet earth.

 – Confusion abounds over mechanics of Tennessee lottery vote.  Strange: elections officials will divide the total number of votes cast for governor in two.  The number of "yes" votes for the lottery question must exceed that number to pass.
Former janitor bags $5M lottery win.  A Vancouver janitor who worked seven nights a week cleaning Dairy Queen outlets has really cleaned up in the Lotto Super 7 draw.
Chinese High-roller blows $51 million.  An Australian high roller has gone AWOL after blowing $51 million at Crown Casino in Melbourne.
S.C. indulges love affair with Powerball.  Lottery players spent more than $500,000 a day on Powerball during the first week the game was offered in South Carolina.  More: S.C. Powerball sales total more than $4 million.
Lottery commission agrees to file court brief.  The South Carolina Education Lottery commission agreed Wednesday to file a brief with the state court of appeals stating its opposition to phone cards.

 – $150,000 Big Game ticket unclaimed.  Someone who could have been a whole lot richer officially missed out when a winning Big Game lottery ticket expired Monday.
$500,000 Powerball winner yet unclaimed.  If you bought a Powerball ticket in Garden City Beach, South Carolina last week, you'd better hope it didn't end up in this week's trash.

 – Man wins lottery twice with the same numbers.  An electrician has won the lottery for the second time with the same numbers, and now plans to retire to an African island.
Powerball may help S.C. reach lottery goal.  South Carolina sold more than $2.5 million in tickets during Powerball's first week -- making the multistate lottery a potential sales powerhouse for the state's own lottery and education fund.
Lottery players will be able to choose where the money goes.  People buying UK National Lottery tickets will be allowed to choose the type of charity they want to fund under radical proposals to overhaul the way that money for "good causes" is distributed.  More: Outcry at plan to let Lotto ticket buyers pick charities.
Tazewell, VA man wins $175,000 Mega Millions prize.  James Ferguson went back to the store where he bought his ticket and was told by the clerk that a winning ticket had been purchased there the previous day.  "She said only two people played Mega Millions that day before she left," Mr. Ferguson told lottery officials.  "And the other guy said it wasn't him."
VA woman matches first five numbers for $175,000.  Katherine Regalado of Prince George, Virginia selected her numbers using important dates in her life.

Group of 30 Aerospace Employees Claim Half of $82 Million Jackpot.  California lottery officials announced that 30 Gulfstream employees came forward to claim half of Wednesday's SuperLotto Plus jackpot of $82 million.
Tennessee looks to Georgia for lottery hope.  It's not like Georgia voters were trying to start a trend when they voted for a lottery back in 1992.  But in the nine years since its inception, the story of Georgia's lottery has become something of a modern-day fairy tale in the rhetoric of pro-lottery activists in surrounding states.
Ex-lottery director files defamation suit.  Former Texas Lottery director Linda Cloud sued Gov. Rick Perry's chief of staff and two aides Thursday, accusing them of lying and covering up what they knew about a harassment investigation into a former lottery official.
Charlotte, N.C. woman wins first $100,000 S.C. Powerball prize.  A woman from Charlotte, North Carolina is the first-ever winner of a $100,000 South Carolina Powerball prize.

 – W.Va. Puts Amber Alert on Lottery.  West Virginia has become the latest state to put "Amber Alert" information about child abductions on lottery tickets and video lottery terminals, Gov. Bob Wise said Wednesday.
One $100,000 lottery ticket sold in South Carolina.  Someone came up with a lucky lottery ticket in South Carolina's initial participation in the Powerball drawing.
Lottery luck could become dumb luck for some.  Florida Lottery spokesman Sam Oliver said there was about $41 million in unclaimed lottery jackpots last year.

Texas goes through 4 lottery chiefs in 11 years.  This week's lottery number is four.  That's the number of executive directors the Texas Lottery Commission has had since it was created 11 years ago.
DDB threatens suit in Calif. lottery wrangle.  When California's five-year, $125 million lottery advertising account went into review last year, DDB was named the apparent winner.  But a protest from incumbent Grey Global Group's Grey Worldwide, Los Angeles, led to a decision by the lottery to rebid the contract.  DDB came in second to FCB in the rebidding process.
Lottery Winner Wins Big -- Again.  Less than 15 months after splitting a $100,000 Powerball prize with his boss, an Albuquerque man has claimed a $25,000 top prize playing a New Mexico Lottery scratcher game.

S.C. Powerball sales top $600,000.  Sales of Powerball tickets topped $600,000 by late Monday afternoon, said South Carolina Education Lottery spokeswoman Tara Robertson.
Fourth time could be the charm for North Dakota lottery.  Next month, North Dakota voters will decide whether their state should join with others in a lottery.
