 – Wisconsin lottery ticket sales increase $7.4 million.  Wisconsin lottery ticket sales increased $7.4 million in the last fiscal year, helping deliver more than $10 million in new property tax relief, according to a state audit released Thursday.

 – Powerball Jackpot Soars To $51 Million.  Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Wednesday's Powerball drawing the jackpot grew to an estimated $51 million, with a cash option of $26.4 million.
First Triple Rollover for UK Lotto to Spark Ticket Frenzy.  The UK Lotto will see its first ever triple rollover jackpot this weekend, with a top prize of at least £21.5 million (US$39.2 million).  If only one person matches all six numbers, they will become the largest single winner.  Operators Camelot are now warning people 'buy early to avoid disappointment' because no extra tickets will go on sale above the usual quota.
NY man wins $1 million lottery scratch game.  On May 14, Salvatore Mancuso of Williamsville, New York bought a Moo-La-Millions ticket at the Tops on Maple Road in Amherst, scratched off the game ticket, and discovered that he won.

 – PA Woman Makes Powerball History.  A Clearfield County woman won $1,003,688 for her appearance on the Powerball Instant Millionaire TV Game Show, lottery officials said.
Spain's prince weds, wins lottery too.  As if having a fairytale wedding was not enough luck for one day, Spain's Prince Felipe, 36, and new wife Princess Letizia, 31, hit the jackpot yesterday with a lottery ticket given to them as a wedding present, state radio reported.
 – Atlantic Canadian couple wins $10 million.  A Canadian woman who had just lost her job at a Cape Breton hardware store had a big change in her luck this weekend as she won a $10 million lottery jackpot.
Illinois Governor denies shifty practices.  The Illinois Lottery has shifted advertising from 15 billboards throughout the state to a single billboard in Chicago that is seen by about half as many people but is owned by one of Gov. Rod Blagojevich's major campaign contributors.

Tennessee Lottery To Fully Fund Scholarships.  The Tennessee Education Lottery today celebrates its four-month anniversary with "higher-than projected revenues and an optimistic outlook for its next transfer to the Tennessee Lottery for Education fund scheduled for July 15."
Stolen lottery tickets land pair in jail.  Two Kentucky men are accused of stealing more than $10,000 in lottery tickets and were arrested after trying to cash some of the winning ones, law enforcement officials said.

Kentucky losing lottery sales to Tennessee.  Kentucky Lottery officials say they have their first hard evidence that Tennessee's new lottery has chipped away at their income: Kentucky lost about $1.85 million in the $213 million Powerball drawing on May 8.

WCLC to clearly define "ticket".  The Western Canada Lottery Corporation is changing its definition of a winning ticket, after a woman was allowed to collect her prize with a photocopy.

 – Pennsylvania Lottery Reveals Age Checking Lottery Terminals.  Pennsylvania Secretary of Revenue Gregory C. Fajt today announced that more than 6,700 Lottery retailers will be able to electronically check the ages of customers through online Lottery terminals using a new age verification system.
Tennessee Powerball $100,000 Winner Plans To Build Home.  Matthew Hemby said his family “jumped up and down laughing” when they realized they had won $100,000 and that they knew instantly what they planned to do with their winnings: “Build a new home for our family.”

New York lottery sales go up 8.2%.  Sales of New York state lottery tickets totaled $5.84 billion in the fiscal year that ended March 31, officials said this week.  That’s up 8.2 percent from $5.39 billion the previous year.
California legislature could expand lottery.  Despite fears California is becoming the world's gambling capital, the state lottery Friday broadened its proposed overhaul to include Nevada-style games banned by the 1984 lottery initiative.

 – Powerball jackpot increased to $212 million.  The state lottery directors who sell the Powerball game increased the estimated jackpot today from $205 million to $212 million after strong sales during the past two days.
 – Georgia oversight committee looks into generous lottery perks.  A legislative oversight committee began looking Thursday at the generous employment policies of the Georgia Lottery Corp., whose former director and three top aides collected almost $300,000 for vacation and sick days they were due but never used when they left the state to help start Tennessee's lottery.

Student Loses $18,800 In Scam.  An IUPUI student tricked into believing he had won an Internet sweepstakes lottery was bilked out of more than $18,000, campus police said.
